In the six-axis dual-spindle model, the main spindle handles front-end machining (such as turning and drilling), while the sub-spindle, through the vertically movable Y2-axis and coordinated end-face power tools, synchronously completes machining of special-shaped grooves, flattening, or contouring on the back of the part. This reduces idle waiting time and maximizes equipment utilization.
With a single-spindle machine, after processing one bar of material, reloading is required, leaving the equipment idle during this period. In contrast, the dual-spindle model maintains continuous machining of two bars either through alternating loading or uninterrupted feeding (with an automatic feeder), keeping both spindles active at all times. This boosts the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) by over 30%, making it particularly suitable for 24-hour automated production lines.
